What is JadoPado?

JadoPado is a new e-commerce experience for the UAE. We've tried to do things a little bit differently. We avoid selling anything that we don't hold in inventory, we use our own fleet of delivery vans and we've tried to build a better experience by creating a colorful and simple site, with some great customer support thrown in.

How does it work?

It's actually pretty easy! Have a look around the site to find items that you would like to purchase. Add them to your cart and hit Checkout once you're done. Fill out your details, show us where you live using our integrated map, and pick a delivery slot for when you would like to receive your order. Review and pay using your credit card, and we'll be along fairly shortly with your stuff.

The JadoPado Team

Omar Kassim

founder

Known to secretly throw his hands in the air and twirl in joy in his chair labelled “Mr. Boss” every time Sri Lanka wins a cricket match, Omar sometimes forgets that his cabin has glass doors.

We have reason to believe that he has plans to one day own an island in the shape of a half bitten apple. He then plans to hold top-secret PS3 gaming marathons on it and document these in the “JadoPado Book of Ultra-Cool Records”.

He is immensely thankful to the powers that be when it rains in this part of the world and has previously mistaken lightning as a camera flash and ducked under his table for cover. But you must never ever remind him of this.

He is also known to occasionally write celebrity blog posts at www.omarkassim.com. Oh wait.

Karlo Alfredo

brand & design architect

Our uber-creative corporate clown is known to be seen around office wearing a T-shirt that reads “Got Sushi?”!

Crazy about nature, food and cars (not necessarily in that order), his one point agenda in life is to someday turn into Jeremy Clarkson. Sans the baldness and belly, of course!

Principally against vegetarian food, he’s known to survive on cold coffee for lunch. His fitness regime constitutes of walking down (not walking back up, we might add) the stairs from our first floor office four times a day.

When he’s not conceptualizing whacky marketing strategies or churning up new design concepts, he’s usually out on the roads teaching his wife how to drive.

Humza Hayat

content writer

Fondly dubbed as JP’s Grammar Police, Humza has an eye for ferreting out grammar and spelling mistakes that the rest of the team and most of our customers miss.

Known for letting us know when we’re wrong – grammatically, he has a penchant for making sense of all the technical mumbo jumbo of our products and presenting them in an engaging, easy to understand manner.

When he’s not busy correcting our written work, he loses sleep to video games, movies and all things electronic that we have in stock.

Four years of Journalism school have turned him into a movie buff and a very tough film critic. Don’t ask us how that came about but feel free to ask him. Needless to say, he’s a bit of a movie snob who judges you if you don’t watch foreign films but shh… you didn’t hear it from us!

Humza is also the first writer we know who says no to caffeine. Fueled by his will to correct things, he keeps the words on our website in line. Should you find an error, feel free to blame err, shoot him an email and tell him about it.

Sreejith Sreenivasan

lead developer

Often seen behind the wheel of his recently acquired muscle car, wearing over-sized ultra-black shades and rhythmically nodding his head to blaring music, he’s known to be a silent, efficient coding-genius.

With distinct owl-like (yes, the bird) characteristics, you’ll find Sreejith glaring at his laptop screen into the wee hours of the morning. Now you know why he likes the over-sized shades.

An Apple devotee, he’s known to offer other gadgets as sacrifices during his bi-annual “I *heart* Apple” self-attended conferences (read: rituals). He’s known to hold the highest rank in the “shortest time taken to answer a question” in The JadoPado Book of Random Records for questions are that are vaguely related to cricket.

Reyaz Moosa

developer

An avid football and cricket follower, we know that Reyaz secretly wishes that his new-born son becomes a world famous player. No, he hasn’t told us, but we just know.

As he builds complex logic into his coding, he’s actually dreaming of building sustainable architecture.

He then dreams of sitting atop one of these sustainable buildings with his laptop, feet dangling off the ledge (in the safest way possible!) as he solves mind-bending puzzles. Including, but not limited to, finding answers to questions such as: Why did the chicken cross the road?

Shabbir Mandvawala

consumer products merchandiser

Passionate about traveling the world, you will often find Shabbir looking through his “My Future Travels” scrapbook with eyes where his pupils have been replaced with tiny sparkly red hearts.

We have reason to believe that he has a magic cauldron that gives him insight into on going (and scheduled) cricket matches. Why? Because his predictions on the winning team are usually always right. Hmmm.

Aptly almost-nicknamed “Are we there yet?”, Shabbir has an uncanny ability to shoot out a hundred questions in under a minute.

Ok, we exaggerate. The actual number is ninety-two.

Salman Khan

warehouse & fulfillment manager

Salman is all about the very much made up 3Fs in his life - family, food and football! The perfect weekend consists of uninterrupted family time, great home cooked food and as many football matches on TV as possible.

He finds Chinese and Arabic Food to suit his palate best and is actually able to differentiate between Syrian, Lebanese and Egyptian food.

He occasionally uses this information to his advantage when at the Dubai Mall food court. We’re not quite sure how, but he does and the outcome is a full tray of yummy food.

Most JadoPadoers are cricket and gaming fans, Salman is our first and probably only football fan. If Arsenal’s playing we’re thankful for the time difference as he tends to give up on everything else aside from his TV screen.

Saloni Jolly Banga

customer care manager

Saloni is a creative soul with a penchant for travel. She is no stranger to finding great deals in the strangest places online or offline. When she’s not handling our social media and customer care like a pro, what keeps her ticking is her fondness for (speed!) reading and her culinary prowess.

She dreams of one day being on Master Chef, if not there, then maybe on the dance floor flexing her other hidden talent. Did we mention she’s great at shopping? All that travel has made her very good at that too. A dancing super chef so far, we know she isn’t afraid to be a dream big.

Jaison Jose

transporter

An adrenaline junkie, you’ll most often find Jaison as a part of high-speed chases. On his computer, of course.

When he’s not playing video games or watching action movies, you’ll find Jaison giving life’s lessons to his 3 year old. His inspiration for these lessons: stand up comics and the legendary Tom & Jerry.

If you see a 3 year old playing cricket with his father in the park next door, go on over and cheer Jaison and his son on!

Hareld Edward

transporter

If he’s not busy playing on his PSP or picking up the latest PSP game, Hareld (also known to go by the alias ‘Harry’) will most often than not be found rehearsing some hard-core Kung fu moves in his room. *haiiiiiiyyyyyyyyyya*

Or you’ll find him munching on some exotic seafood dishes. In this case, grab a chair and join him. He’ll share – he’s cool like that.

yousuf abdul ghani

transporter

If you hear a shrill, high-pitched voice scream "Welcome home" smack in the middle of your day, look around for Yousef. You might see him with one of his self-trained parrots, out for a stroll.

And should you ever have an uncontrollable urge to want to annoy this ever-smiling, forever-joyful, adorable little fella (although why you would want to do that is absolutely beyond us!), you may consider taking him shopping.

Or feed him sushi. That'll do the trick.

Nicknamed JadoPado ('fatty') by his mother, we ask you ladies to stand back. This one's taken. Committed to his car, he claims!
